I am Sam Hartburn, a proofreader, editor and maths geek based in Whitstable, Kent.

My favourite part of my degree was writing my third-year project. I thought at the time that I’d like a career involving maths and writing, but somehow ended up in software development instead. After thirteen years I finally broke free and started on a freelance career that allows me to combine two of my favourite activities: reading and maths.

I coordinate the Canterbury branch of MathsJam, and can be found doing fun maths in the pub on the second-to-last Tuesday of each month.

Follow me on Twitter for updates on my mathematical baking and 3d-printing experiments.
